Arbetskonflikt eskalerar: Flera fackförbund vidtar åtgärder mot Tesla i Sverige

Labor dispute escalates: several unions take action against Tesla in Sweden

The labor dispute at Tesla in Sweden is intensifying as additional unions announce a sympathy alert. The transport sector union plans to prevent the loading of the company's cars in several Swedish ports and has announced that these measures will be extended to all national ports from November 17 if no agreement is reached.

Tesla has for the first time publicly commented on the situation, explaining that they follow Swedish labor market rules but see no reason to sign collective agreements as they believe their current offers are already comparable or exceed the conditions provided by collective agreements.

IF Metall, which initiated the strike, stands by its demand for a collective agreement for the employees at Tesla's service facilities. The strike, which began last week, has now escalated with more unions expressing their support through their own notices.

Further measures include a blockade of all service and repair work at the company's workshops and charging stations from November 17, underlining the seriousness of the situation and the broad union solidarity.

Talks between IF Metall and Tesla have so far not led to a solution, and no new negotiations are planned. This means continued uncertainty for the company's operations in Sweden and its customers, who may be affected by the industrial action.

Despite the labor dispute, operations at many of Tesla's service facilities have continued, which IF Metall has strongly denounced as strikebreaking. In light of this, it has been reported that Tesla cars have been diverted to avoid the affected ports, demonstrating the effectiveness of the measures.

Tesla has emphasized its commitment to remain available to its customers despite the conflict. The fundamental demand of IF Metall remains that the company should sign collective agreements for their employees, a position that has still not been answered with any offer of compromise.
