Description

Roof trim with T-profile for Model Y, 3, S & X designed to reduce cabin noise at higher speeds while stylishly and effectively protecting the glass roof edge from stone chips. The rubber strip can be compared to neoprene and is very effective at absorbing noise and high-frequency sounds that occur at higher speeds.

Which size should I choose?

All glass roofs are mounted slightly differently from the factory, meaning the roof trim may not fit perfectly all the way around. However, one of the sizes usually fits the front edge of the car according to our experience. Below you’ll find recommendations on what tends to fit most cars. Please note that your vehicle may require a different size than our recommendations – it all depends on how your glass roof was installed at the factory. For those who want to test first, we offer samples at a discounted price – samples are approximately 10 cm long.

Model 3 lengths (3 mm recommended for 2021+ cars from the USA and 2.5 mm for earlier models and new cars from China):

1 meter = want to buy a longer roll and cut your own lengths? Buy by the meter and select the quantity to get the total length you need.

1.3 meters = for those who want to cover the front edge between the windshield and the glass roof (recommended).

4 meters = for those who want to place the trim around the entire glass roof for maximum sound insulation against wind noise and protection against stone chips.

Model Y lengths (2.5 mm recommended):

5.3 meters = for those who want to place the trim around the entire glass roof for maximum sound insulation against wind noise and protection against stone chips. Note that the rear edge of the roof and the opening around the tailgate can affect how the trim fits. If it doesn’t fit properly at the rear, we recommend trimming it at the edge of the long sides, where the tailgate begins. Depending on how your glass roof was mounted at the factory, the sides of the car may vary slightly between vehicles. Therefore, the trim may not fit perfectly on all cars.

Model S lengths (2.5 mm recommended):

1 meter = want to buy a longer roll and cut your own lengths? Buy by the meter and select the quantity to get the total length you need.

1.4 meters = for those who want to cover the front edge between the windshield and the glass roof (recommended).

5.8 meters = for those who want to place the trim around the entire glass roof for maximum sound insulation against wind noise and protection against stone chips. Note that the rear edge of the roof and the opening around the tailgate can affect how the trim fits. If it doesn’t fit properly at the rear, we recommend trimming it at the edge of the long sides, where the tailgate begins. Installation:

Install by gently stretching the rubber strip and placing it around the glass roof above the windshield. We recommend using silicone spray to install the trim correctly and evenly in the gap around the glass roof. If you don’t use silicone spray or similar, the trim may not appear straight or smooth, and you might not get it deep enough into the gap.

Each length is cut slightly longer than the selected size so you can trim and adjust the length of the roof trim yourself.

Which cornice should I choose?

Our T-profile roof molding is available in two widths: 2.5 mm and 3 mm. The product description includes recommendations for which size fits each Tesla model, but if you want to be absolutely sure of the fit, you can order a sample of both sizes for only 29 SEK and test them directly on your Tesla.

For the Tesla Model Y (2021-2024), we also offer a specially adapted rounded roof molding. For the front edge of the roof, there are also roof moldings with 3M tape in widths of 14 mm and 19 mm.

Will installing moldings reduce the noise level?

The rubber strips for the roof and doors have several advantages. The material is comparable to neoprene and is useful for absorbing noise and reducing high-pitched whistling sounds that occur at higher speeds. In addition, the strips protect against dirt accumulation in the gaps, and the roof strip provides effective protection against stone chips at the edge of the glass roof.
