Tesla Cybertruck without a queue - available immediately
Despite Elon Musk previously claiming that there are one million reservations for the Tesla Cybertruck, it is now possible to have the car delivered immediately in the US. According to analyst Sam Abuelsamid, who spoke to Reuters, Tesla currently has a large stock of both two- and three-motor models.
Interest in the Tesla Cybertruck has been huge since the first deliveries began late last year. To date, Tesla has sold 16,000 units, with 4,800 delivered in July in the US alone. That makes the Cybertruck the best-selling car in the US in the $100,000 or more price range.
But despite the major reservation mentioned by Elon Musk in October, it seems that many potential customers are hesitating to make their purchase. Tesla's website states that delivery of the two-engine version could take place as early as August. If you order the top-of-the-range Cyberbeast with three engines, delivery could be as early as October.
After a month of testing the Cybertruck, Marques Brownlee has shared his experiences. Meanwhile, Tesla has decided to stop taking orders for the cheapest model that would cost $61,000. Now, the two-motor version, with a price of $99,990, is the most affordable and available for immediate delivery. Tesla aims to produce 200,000 cars annually, but the question is how big the real demand is.
Analyst Sam Abuelsamid of Guidehouse Insights says this indicates that interest is not reaching the expected one million cars. The significant price increase may be one of the reasons why many customers have withdrawn. When Elon Musk showed off the Cybertruck in 2019, it was said that the entry-level model would cost $ 40,000, but now it is a full $ 100,000. A spokesperson from analyst firm Cox points out in an email to Reuters that despite Tesla selling over 16,000 cars so far, it may be difficult to maintain these sales volumes at the current price.
