BP och Tesla går samman: En grön revolution inom elbilsladdning tar form i USA

BP and Tesla join forces: A green revolution in electric car charging takes shape in the US

BP, the prominent oil company, is facing an exciting transformation in its commitment to green energy by intensifying its presence in the electric car charging market. An unexpected but strategic partnership has emerged between BP and electric car giant Tesla. By investing $100 million in Tesla's advanced charging technology, BP Pulse aims to create an impressive and extensive public charging network across the United States.

Starting in major metropolises like Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington D.C., BP plans to install these state-of-the-art charging stations. This initiative is particularly important as urbanization increases and the need for reliable EV charging infrastructure becomes more urgent.

Richard Bartlett, who leads bp pulse globally, expressed enthusiasm about this progress. He believes that by bringing together BP's expertise in fuel distribution with Tesla's leading EV charging technology, they will be able to offer an unbeatable customer experience. He also predicts that the partnership will strengthen BP's position in the green energy market.

The charging stations that BP plans to install will not only be fast - with a charging capacity of 250 kW, comparable to what Tesla offers in its own Supercharger stations - but will also be universal. With support for both the widely accepted CCS1 standard and Tesla's own NACS standard, BP is demonstrating its commitment to making charging accessible to as many EV users as possible.

Rebecca Tinucci, responsible for Tesla's Supercharger network, reflected on the collaboration by pointing out that this is a new and exciting development for Tesla. By selling its charging technology to partners like BP, Tesla can expand its horizons and further reinforce its commitment to transforming the transportation industry to become more sustainable.

Finally, Martin Viecha, Tesla's Head of IR, summed up the deal by emphasizing the mutual benefit. With BP's extensive network of stations, more people can now see and use Tesla's charging technology. This will undoubtedly spur a faster transition to electric cars and thereby reduce our carbon footprint.
