Lowering/comfort springs Unplugged Performance Model 3

Tesla Model 3 Performance and other models can choose to upgrade to Unplugged performance springs on their car. Each spring is specially designed for two distinct linear spring rates. This allows for increased comfort (spring rate #1) along with increased handling (spring rate #2).

During the extensive aerodynamic study of the Model 3, the effect of the new springs was tested using CFD. Following the installation of the moderate spring (38 mm lower) resulted in an 8.1% reduction in drag, with a reduction in the overall vehicle drag coefficient of 0.019.

Lowering/comfort springs functions:

Moderate gives a ground clearance similar to modern sports cars with a little more comfort in mixed driving and sportier handling in corners. Provides about 38 mm of drop from the factory.

Low provides the lowest ground clearance similar to modern hypercars. Gives about 53 mm drop from factory.

Super Performance is engineered specifically for Model 3 Performance to provide maximum handling without sacrificing comfort. The height is comparable to our best-selling "moderate" springs with a relative height reduction of approximately 30 mm compared to the original springs on Model 3 Performance that are already lowered from the factory.

However, the lowering can vary as different Model 3s have different factory spring rates based on different production dates, the range from the factory is about 15 mm.
