Description
Door seals that are installed to provide better sound insulation and protect against dirt in the entry area are among the most popular accessories in our range!
Installation:
Please note that installation should be carried out on a warm car where the surface temperature is at least 15 degrees. For the best adhesion, we recommend cleaning with rubbing alcohol (T-röd) and then using a primer, for example from 3M, which you can find HERE.
Each door seal is individually packed in separately labeled bags, making it easier for you to identify where each seal should be mounted. The seals are intentionally made slightly longer, giving you some extra material in case of mistakes. Once you’ve mounted the seals and attached the ones you need, simply cut off the excess before pressing down the ends of the seals.
Take one seal at a time and make sure you’ve cleaned with rubbing alcohol or a similar cleaner before beginning installation.
Hold the seal against the intended area to measure the length and placement. Be sure to mount the seals a few millimeters inside the door edges so they don’t stick out when closing the door!
For Model 3 & Y, all seals should be installed.
For Model S, all seals except those for the A & B pillars should be installed.
For Model X, all seals except those for the A & B pillars and the rear doors should be installed.
A & B pillars
Mounted on the corresponding parts of the body/doors as shown in the pictures above. These seals are not needed for Model S & X.
Front doors
Install the thicker part of the seal along the bottom edge of the door and the thinner part upwards. It is important to start at the outer corner at the bottom of the door (a few mm in so the seal is not visible when closing the door). Then mount the thinner part upwards while the thicker part follows the bottom edge of the door.
Make sure not to cover the drainage holes for water from the windows. Either install the seal slightly higher above the holes (recommended), or cut the seal to leave an opening at the drainage hole.
Rear doors
Start at the top edge and work your way down along the door (a few mm in so the seal is not visible when closing the door).
Again, make sure not to cover the drainage holes for water from the windows. Either install the seal slightly higher above the holes (recommended), or cut the seal to leave an opening at the drainage hole.
Frunk
Identify the center of the seal; this should be placed in the middle of the frunk, quite far out on the edge (but still a few mm inward so it’s hidden when the frunk is closed). From the center, mount the seal outward to the sides. This ensures even pressure, minimizing insects entering under the frunk and diverting incoming airflow toward the sides.
Trunk
Mounted between the brake lights. Follow the edge of the trunk lid (but still a few mm inward so it’s hidden when the trunk is closed). Cut off any excess material.
Have any of your seals come loose?
Replace with new 3M tape, which you can find HERE. For optimal adhesion, we also recommend 3M primer, which you can find HERE.
If you choose installation as an add-on, we will select the seals adapted to your car’s needs, taking into account the existing seals based on your model and year.
