Turn vehicle power on and off

You can turn Model S on and off if it exhibits unusual behavior or if an indeterminate warning is displayed.

Note: If the touchscreen is unresponsive or exhibits unusual behavior, try restarting the touchscreen or dashboard before turning the vehicle off and on.

1. Put in park mode.
2. On the touchscreen, press Controls > Security > Turn off the car.
3. Wait at least two minutes without doing anything to the vehicle. Do not open any doors, touch the brake pedal, touch screen, etc.
4. After two minutes, press the brake pedal or open the door to wake the vehicle.
