Charging socket status light

When the charging socket is open, the status light changes color to inform about the current status. The purpose is to facilitate troubleshooting in the event of a fault. The charging socket light will turn off as a reminder after a short time if the vehicle is locked (for example, if you approach the vehicle after it has been charging for a while).

Note: When connecting your vehicle, make a habit of checking the color of the charging socket light before leaving the vehicle. If the light is red or yellow, you can immediately correct the fault and ensure a correct charge.

  • WHITE - FIXED LIGHT (normal operation)

What it means: Model X is ready to charge and the plug is not plugged in, or the charging port latch is unlocked and the plug can be removed.

Here's what to do: Insert the plug to charge or remove it to stop charging.

  • BLUE - FLASHING (normal function)

What it means: Model X communication with the charging station is enabled.

What to do: Nothing. Wait a few seconds until the charging port begins to flash green (charging) or glow solid blue (an upcoming charge is scheduled).

  • BLUE - steady light (action may be required)

What it means: Model X recognizes that a plug has been connected and that an upcoming charge will start at a specific scheduled time. Charging not active.

How to do it: To charge immediately, disable Scheduled charging or tap Start charging on the touchscreen or on your mobile app. If you want to use scheduled charging, you don't need to do anything. Remember that scheduled charging saves your position.

GREEN - FLASHING (normal function)

What it means: Charging in progress. The more charged Model X is, the slower the light flashes.

What to do: Nothing. Remove the charging cable when charging is complete.

  • GREEN - steady light (normal operation)

What it means: Charging is complete.

Here's what to do: Remove the charging cable when you are ready to drive away.

  • YELLOW - FIXED RAIL (action required)

What it means: The plug is not fully inserted into the charging socket.

Here's what to do: Re-align the plug of the cable with the charging socket and push it in fully. If the problem persists, check whether there is anything preventing the charging socket and plug from being plugged in. If no errors are detected, try another charging cable.

  • YELLOW - FLASHING (action required)

What it means: Model X is charging with reduced current due to not being fully plugged into the charging jack.

Here's what to do: Re-align the cable connector with the charging socket and push it in fully. If the problem persists, check if there is anything obstructing the connection of the charging socket and plug. If no errors are detected, try another charging cable.

  • RED - FIXED RAIL (action required)

What does it mean: A fault has been detected and charging has been interrupted or cannot start.

Here's what to do: Check the dashboard or touchscreen for an error message. If no error is detected, try another charging cable or reset the charging source (if applicable, check the status light on the mobile connection or wall plug). If another charging cable does not help, turn the vehicle off and on via the touchscreen and try again.

  • NO LAMP (normal function)

What it means: Model X is locked and has been off for some time.

What to do: Nothing. The charging port status light comes on if the vehicle is unlocked or the button on the charging handle is pressed.
