Program Smart Garage Doors

HomeLink

Program HomeLink®:

  • Park Model X in such a way that the front bumper is positioned in front of the unit you want to program.

Caution: The unit may open or close during programming. Before programming, ensure that the unit cannot hit people or objects.

  • Ensure the unit’s remote control has a properly functioning battery. Tesla recommends replacing the battery in the unit’s remote before programming HomeLink.
  • Tap the HomeLink icon at the top of the touchscreen.
  • Tap Create HomeLink.
  • Enter a name for the device on the HomeLink screen, then tap Register or Add New HomeLink.
  • Select the mode you want to use (Standard, D-Mode, or UR-Mode), then tap Set Mode.
  • Tap Start and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you see a screen labeled “Learn Receiver” while programming the device, remember this is a time-sensitive step. After pressing the Learn/Program/Smart button on the unit’s remote, you have only about 30 seconds to get back to the vehicle, press Continue and then double-click the learned HomeLink device name. Consider having another person available to ensure the step can be completed within 30 seconds.

  • Once the device is programmed, tap Save to complete the programming.
  • Ensure HomeLink is functioning correctly. In some cases, you may need to repeat the programming process several times before succeeding.

Once programmed, you can control the device by tapping the corresponding HomeLink icon on the touchscreen. HomeLink remembers the locations of programmed devices. As you approach a known location, the HomeLink control appears on the touchscreen automatically. When you drive away, it disappears.
