Remove and install the nose cone
Model S vehicles built before April 2016 are equipped with a nose cone that is attached to the front bumper. Removing the nose cone provides access to the 12V terminals as well as the hood latch.
Removing the nose cone:
- Using a plastic pry tool, carefully release the nose cone from the moldings.
- If the vehicle is equipped with parking sensors, disconnect its contacts (x2) by pressing the tab of the contact and then gently pulling out that contact.
Fitting the nosecone:
- If the vehicle is equipped with parking sensors, its connectors (x2) shall be connected.
- Align the nose cone clamps with the corresponding holes in the strip.
- With both hands, push the nose cone into the strip so that all clamps are in place. Press along the edge around the entire nose cone to ensure it is secure.
