Changing the wiper blades
For optimal performance, the wiper blades should be changed at least once a year. Replacement blades must meet the following criteria:
- The driver side blade must be 26 inches (650 mm) long and 20 inches (500 mm) long for the passenger side blade.
- Ensure that the attachment on the replacement blade is the same as on the original blade. Different mounts may prevent the replacement blade from attaching to the vehicle's wiper arm.
You can purchase replacement wiper blades atTesla store(andhttps://shop.tesla.cn/ for China).
Note: Only fit replacement blades that are identical to the original blades. Using unsuitable blades may damage the wiper system and the windshield.
To change the wiper blades:
- Put in park and turn off the wiper blades.
- PressControls > Service > Wiper service mode to move the wiper blades to the service mode.
- Lift the wiper arm a little away from the windshield to access the wiper blade.
Caution: The wiper blades do not lock in the up position. Do not raise the wiper arm higher than its intended position.
- Place a towel between the wiper arm and the windshield to avoid scratching or cracking the windshield.
- Hold the wiper arm and press the locking tab while sliding the blade down the arm.
- Align the new wiper blade on the wiper arm and slide it towards the end of the wiper arm until it locks into place.
Caution: Make sure that the new blade is locked and does not move. Confirm this by pushing and pulling. If it is not locked in place (you can hear and feel a "click"), the wiper blade may come loose during use, causing major damage.
- Turn off the Windshield Wiper Service Mode to return the wiper blades to normal position.
