PPF or foiling?
What is the difference between PPF and foiling?
A PPF or paint protection film as it is actually called is a thicker protective film that is applied to the entire car in a similar way to foiling. PPF is mainly used to protect the car's underlying paintwork from stone chips, scratches and light door impacts. Depending on the PPF you choose, it also has hydrophobic properties that make it easier to clean the car where dirt does not stick as well to the car.
The main purpose of foiling is to change the car's appearance in terms of color, a foil does not protect in the same way as PPF, it can protect against light scratches and even an occasional minor stone chip, but for larger stone chips, scratches and even door impacts, a foil does not make a difference. The paint underneath is still just as sensitive!
