Tow hitch - Good to know
Tow hitch
Have you bought a Tesla tow hitch and now you're wondering how to install it?
Follow our guide below for top tips to consider!
Start by getting yourself a spudger of some kind for disassembling the cover that needs to be removed to install the tow hitch. We have two different variants we recommend, if you use two spudgers when you remove the cover, it will be a much easier task:

When the cover is removed, put the key in the tow hitch lock cylinder and turn until the cylinder is in line with the unlocked position.
Then pull the lock cylinder out about 5 mm and turn clockwise until the unlock icon is on the upper part of the lock cylinder.
Push the tow hitch in an upward motion, do not hold the lock cylinder, this will rotate when the tow hitch is locked in the car.
Check that the tow hitch is correctly secured by pulling it, then turn the key so that the arrows are aligned with the lock icon on the lock cylinder. Do not forget to keep the cover and the key for the tow hitch in a safe place, preferably in the car.
To dismantle the tow hitch, just reverse the order, make sure the cover is fitted correctly so you don't risk losing it on the road later.
