About Pearl White:

Are you experiencing that the result does not match the original paint? Tesla’s Pearl White is a translucent multi-coat paint, meaning it gets its white appearance because light passes through thin layers and reflects back. If the touch-up paint is applied in layers that are too thick, the light cannot pass through and reflect properly. In that case, the color may appear dull, beige, or yellowish.

If the exact same paint is instead applied in a very thin layer, it will immediately match the car’s original paint. The color itself is correct — it is the thickness that makes it look different.

How to fix a layer that is too thick:

Remove the applied paint: Carefully clean or level down the raised paint blob.
Apply thin layers: Use a very small amount of paint with a fine brush or toothpick. Dab on a very thin layer, let it dry for about 10 minutes, and repeat if needed.

By building up the paint in thin layers, the light can reflect correctly, making the beige tone disappear and allowing the paint to blend with the car’s original finish.

How is the color of improvement?

Shake the paint pin properly before use. Clean the surface and then apply a thin layer with one of the supplied brushes. Allow to dry before you may apply further. Close the paint pin carefully after use for best durability.

Vad är skillnaden mellan 1K och 2K lackstift?

Ett 2K-lackstift är inte det enklaste att arbeta med, eftersom det innehåller både färg och härdare och kräver snabb hantering och mer noggrannhet. För den som vill göra det enkelt rekommenderas därmed 1K-lackstift.

Med 1K fyller du upp stenskottet i flera lager tills ytan ligger i nivå, eller gärna lite över, med den omgivande lacken. Låt lagningen härda några dagar och när färgen har satt sig kan du ta en linnetrasa, till exempel från ett gammalt lakan, vira den hårt runt fingret och dränka toppen i ren aceton. Genom att försiktigt gnugga över stenskottet slipar du ned lagningen till samma nivå som den övriga lacken, samtidigt som eventuell överskottsfärg försvinner. Om mycket färg byggts upp kan processen behöva upprepas. Resultatet blir ett stenskott som efteråt är nästintill osynligt.

Pearl White matchar inte med lacken på min Tesla

Upplever du att resultatet inte matchar originallacken? Teslas Pearl White är en translucent multi-coat / flerskiktslack, vilket innebär att färgen får sitt vita utseende genom att ljuset passerar genom tunna lager och reflekteras tillbaka. Om färgen i lackstiftet appliceras i för tjocka lager kan ljuset inte passera igenom och därmed inte reflekteras tillbaka och fångas upp på rätt sätt. I det fallet kan färgen upplevas matt, beige eller gulaktig. Om exakt samma färg istället appliceras i ett mycket tunt lager kommer den direkt att matcha bilens originalfärg. Kulören är alltså korrekt – det är tjockleken som gör att den ser annorlunda ut.
