New affordable Tesla Model Y Standard – SEK 50,000 cheaper
Tesla has once again attracted attention. This time with a secret leak about the next Model Y. A simplified version of the popular SUV has been named Model Y Standard and is expected to be launched as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
New, cheaper entry-level model
According to reports, the Model Y Standard will have a starting price of around SEK 375,000 in the US. That is about SEK 50,000 cheaper than today's cheapest Model Y, making it Tesla's lowest-priced car model to date, even below the entry-level version of the Model 3.
What we know about the new Tesla Model Y Standard
- Updated front with new headlights and integrated front camera
- No light strip like today's Model Y
- No glass roof
- New 18" wheels called Aperture
- Interior with manually adjustable steering wheel, textile decor, and manual air vents on the second row
- A 15.4" center screen, no screen for the rear seat
- No HEPA filter
- Slightly reduced cargo capacity
Despite the adjustments, the model retains Tesla's sporty design, aerodynamics, and modern features. The Model Y Standard opens the door to more buyers thanks to a lower price, without compromising too much on functionality. The combination makes it a model that is likely to attract considerable interest globally.
