Inspect the entry lights
If the vehicle's windows do not operate properly (or if the glass does not lower slightly when the door is opened), perform Calibrate window test. If this does not solve the problem, try the following:
- There is an entry light under each door frame. Check that the entrance light is on. If it is not lit, book a service appointment via the mobile app. If the entry light is not lit, there may be an electrical fault that also affects the windows, although this procedure is intended for calibrating the windows. If the light is on, you can perform the following steps.
- Locate the tab on one side of the fixture for the entry light. Use a pry tool or screwdriver to pry the entry light from the door frame.
- Carefully pull the entry light down to see the connection to the wiring harness, if the cable is securely connected to the light, unplug the cable by pressing the tab of the connection and slide the fixture away from the wiring harness. The wiring harness may have come loose or partially disconnected, so disconnecting and reconnecting it may help.
- Reconnect the light to the wiring harness and return the fixture to the entry light. When the power comes back on, lower the window sash slightly.
- Try closing the door gently while checking that the window is lowered slightly before closing the door and then raised once closed. If this does not work, there may be a problem with the entry light itself (available in the online store) or the wiring harness. Contact Tesla Service via the mobile app to schedule service.
