Tesla Återupptar Produktion vid Giga Berlin efter Logistiska Störningar: Siktar på Miljonkapacitet

Tesla Resumes Production at Giga Berlin after Logistical Disruptions: Aiming for Millions of Capacity

Tesla has resumed car production at its Giga Berlin factory after a temporary halt. The halt, which lasted from January 29 to February 11, 2024, was due to logistical disruptions caused by unrest in the Red Sea. This unrest led freight companies to take the longer route around Africa for shipments from Asia to Europe, affecting several car manufacturers, including Tesla. Despite previous successes in addressing the semiconductor shortage, Tesla was forced to pause production of the Model Y, marking the first time production was halted since the factory opened in early 2022.

During the pause, the company focused on training its staff and carrying out maintenance work, while making efforts to restore supply chains. Tesla confirmed that production has now resumed as planned with all necessary components in place, although it did not specify how this affects Model Y deliveries.

Shortly before the production stop, Giga Berlin reached a new milestone by producing 6.000 copies of the Model Y in one week, which is a step closer to the factory's goal of producing 10.000 units per week and a total annual production of half a million cars. In addition, preparations are underway to expand the factory site, with the goal of doubling production capacity to one million cars a year, underscoring Tesla's ambitions to expand its manufacturing capacity and continue to lead the electric vehicle industry.
