Model S 2012-2020 - Restarting the touchscreen or dashboard
Tesla Model S 2012-2020 - Reboot and turn on and off
Restarting the touchscreen or dashboard
You can restart the touchscreen if it is not responding or exhibiting unusual behavior.
Anm: Maintain the safety of all passengers and other road users by restarting the touchscreen only when the vehicle is parked.
- Put in park mode.
- Hold down both scroll buttons on the steering wheel until the touchscreen turns black.
- Wait about 30 seconds for the touchscreen to restart. If the touchscreen is still not responding or exhibiting unusual behavior after a few minutes, try turning the vehicle power off and on (if possible). See Turn vehicle power on and off.
To reset the dashboard, put it in park and press the top two buttons on the steering wheel (Voice Commands andNext) for 15-30 seconds or until the screen goes black. After a few seconds, a Tesla logo appears. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the dashboard to restart.
Note: Pressing the scroll buttons only restarts the touchscreen. It does not restart any other vehicle component and does not turn Model S off and on.
