Install phone charging cable

Note: Your vehicle may already be equipped with a phone charging dock. This procedure is for vehicles that do not currently have a dock installed.

You can install a phone charging cable in Model 3 to make it easier to connect your phone while avoiding clutter in the center console.

Anm: The phone dock can hold two phones side by side.

Install phone charging cable:

1. Open the two doors of the center console in front of the cup holders.
2. Remove the rubber mat from the phone dock.
3. Lift the phone dock to access the USB ports.
4. To remove the cover from the base of the phone dock, slide the cover to the left.
5. Connect the USB connector of the charging cable to a USB port.
6. Pass the phone end of the charging cable through the bottom of the phone dock and pull the cable through the safety tab arm towards the bottom of the phone dock.
7. Replace the cover on the phone dock base by sliding the cover to the right.
8. Lower the phone dock and replace the rubber mat.
