Christmas gift of the year: What Tesla owners can look forward to
Tesla has a tradition of delivering significant software updates to its vehicles during the Christmas season, known as the "Tesla Holiday Update". This year's update, while slightly more limited than previous years, is expected to include several exciting new features and improvements.
According to information from Not A Tesla App, the update will include features such as Apple Podcast integration, which allows for the playback of podcasts directly in the car's system. Tesla Arcade, the car's built-in gaming platform, will also receive updates for several of its games. Another interesting feature is expanded options for Tesla Lightshow, which allows owners to create their own light shows.
In addition to entertainment features, the update will also improve some safety and functionality aspects. Among other things, the cars will have the capacity to automatically call the emergency center if an airbag is activated. There will also be improvements in navigation, which includes speed camera alerts and improved route planning with milestones in the Tesla mobile app. Users will also be able to access more camera views through the car's camera player.
Additional improvements include an update to the car's blind spot camera, which provides better indications of when other vehicles are in the blind spot during lane changes. There is also a new feature to filter charging stations based on charging speed.
Tesla has confirmed the update and added additional features such as a new advanced parking assistant and the ability to connect wireless Bluetooth headphones to the rear seat monitor. A unique and humorous addition is the ability to customize the lock sound, such as replacing it with the sound of a screaming goat.
Not A Tesla App points out that there may be variations in the available features depending on the car model and that further updates may be added. The big Christmas update from Tesla is traditionally expected to be rolled out around Christmas Eve.
