Tesla Imposes Strict Resale Ban on Cybertruck in First Year - Speculators Warned

Tesla's new Cybertruck, a large and technologically advanced pickup truck, is on track to be delivered to customers within weeks. This car is not only unique in its appearance, with its bare, cold-rolled stainless steel and reinforced glass windows, but also in its sales terms. Tesla has included a clause in the purchase agreement that prohibits the resale of the Cybertruck within the first year of purchase.
This restriction is not unique in the automotive world; it has been seen in the past with limited editions of super sports cars to prevent speculation. A famous case was when John Cena sold his Ford GT and was sued for breach of contract. Tesla's decision to introduce a similar clause for the Cybertruck appears to be an attempt to prevent similar speculation and ensure that those genuinely interested in the car, rather than quick profits, become owners.
The Cybertruck, which comes in different versions with up to four electric motors and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, is an impressive creation. Its size is also remarkable, with a length of 589 cm and a kerb weight of up to 4.5 tons. With over a million reservations and a planned production volume of 250,000 units annually at Tesla's Austin, Texas plant, demand for this car is huge. The purchase agreement for the early buyers states that if a Cybertruck is sold within a year, Tesla can claim an amount of $543,000 or the sale price, whichever is higher. In addition, those who violate this clause may be blocked from purchasing future vehicles from Tesla.
It is also worth noting that the Tesla Cybertruck will not be launched in Europe initially, as Elon Musk has said that they do not plan to adapt the model to meet European requirements. With deliveries starting on November 30, it's an exciting time for Tesla and its customers, although some restrictions apply for those hoping to make a quick profit on their new car.
