The mention of the Cybertruck's ability to rust when driven in the rain has generated discussion on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum in the US. Users have reported small orange spots appearing on the body after driving in rainy weather. One user, with the alias Raxar, shares his experience after driving the car from Dublin to Sacramento in rainy weather and discovering the spots.

Although the material of the Cybertruck's body is described as "stainless steel", these reports show that it is not completely immune to corrosion. The discussion on the forum includes pictures that clearly show the small orange spots on the body.

It is still unclear whether the spots are really rust or something else, but Tesla has included advice in the manual to protect the body from damage. Recommendations include immediately removing corrosive substances such as grease, oil, bird droppings, resin, dead insects, tar stains, road salt and industrial fallout to prevent damage to the exterior of the car. This is a routine action that is essential to maintain the condition of the bodywork, whether it is stainless steel or not.
