eCarExpo 2024: New Electric Vehicles from Polestar, Ford and Volkswagen Revealed

The recently concluded eCarExpo showcased a range of new electric vehicles that mark an exciting development in electric mobility. Among the high-profile launches was the Polestar 4, a performance-oriented SUV coupe positioned between the previous Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 models. This new model has already started rolling off the production line, with deliveries to European customers expected to begin later in 2024.

Ford introduced the all-electric version of the Explorer, a model adapted for the European market. This vehicle represents the first result of Ford's collaboration with Volkswagen and is based on the innovative MEB electric vehicle platform, which it shares technology with the Volkswagen ID.4. The launch of the new Explorer is scheduled for 2024.

Seat unveiled its first fully electric SUV coupe, the Cupra Tavascan, which is designed and developed in Barcelona. This model also utilizes the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, underlining the growing trend of collaboration and technology sharing in the industry.

Volkswagen presented the ID. 2all, a compact electric car with an entry price below €25,000. This model promises impressive space and functionality with its modified MEB Entry platform, and is part of Volkswagen's ambitious plan to launch ten new electric models by 2026.

Mini showcased two new electric models: the second-generation Cooper SE and the larger Countryman, both scheduled for market launch in the first quarter of 2024.

Hyundai introduced the powerful Ioniq 5 N, a performance version of their popular Ioniq 5 model, equipped with 650 horsepower and capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. This model is already available for sale.

Volkswagen Vans presented the longer version of the ID. Buzz, which offers increased space and an extended range thanks to a larger battery. Sales are scheduled to start in the summer, with the first deliveries expected around the end of the year.

Cadillac offered a Nordic premiere with its luxury SUV Lyriq, equipped with two electric motors and an impressive range. This model is scheduled for delivery to Sweden in spring 2024.

Finally, Renault Scenic was reintroduced, now as a fully electric variant under the name Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric, with an impressive range and available for order now.

These launches at eCarExpo underline the rapid development of electric vehicles and demonstrate a broadening market with new, innovative options for consumers.
