Update of ALC Power Control Adapter via OTA

We would like to inform you that an OTA update and settings check via Wi-Fi is available for your ALC (Adaptive Light Control) if its serial number is newer than s/n 22.45.120. Note that this feature is currently considered BETA, so any changes to settings and updates are done at your own risk unless you have received specific information from us regarding updating your unit.

If your ALC is too old to be updated, you can easily order a new unit with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth here - https://oppgrader.alcd.no. You must have the serial number of your old unit available when ordering a new ALC with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth.

The latest firmware version as of April 12, 2024 is 24.8.6, which includes minor bug fixes and support for adaptive high beams.

To make it easier for you to check settings and make adjustments, newer ALC units have built-in Wi-Fi. This allows connection to, for example, a computer to perform the desired adjustments.

Please note that although these ALC units can be updated OTA via Wi-Fi, we recommend that you contact us first to ensure you do not update to a version incompatible with your vehicle.

To activate Wi-Fi on your ALC of the new version, follow these simple steps: turn off all vehicle lights and flash the light horn three times. Wi-Fi will then be activated on your ALC for one minute. If this does not work, disconnect the original headlight connection from the Y-split to the ALC, leave the ALC unpowered for 10 seconds, and reconnect.

For detailed instructions on updating ALC units with firmware higher than 22.22.22 or version 22.22.22, refer to the respective manual.
